Brilliant

This made you think as a detective, make links and leave no stone unturned. It took us a little time to figure out that we had to try everything, even if we were not sure. We played it over several days and thoroughly enjoyed it.

After two years and over 100 playtests later, I found myself on the French version of Dragons’ Den presenting our game-changing concept. The rest is history.

“Woodlock University” is now the most popular detective game in Europe and has quite simply reinvented the genre: a real dream come true."

This was really fun

This was really fun. Really well thought out materials, high quality and I think pitched just right. Solved it relatively quickly but still think there were some challenges. I teach criminology so will want to do this with my students!

Okay puzzles, terrible detective narrative

The puzzles were entertaining for the most part, however requiring people to have a******** account to solve parts is awful. Spending the majority of the game behind a computer on a phone is the opposite of what I want from physical game with friends.

The detective aspect is a very light theme loosely connecting the puzzles. Information is obviously missing in box 1 and then box 2 shows that it clearly should exist but is not given since it would immediately solve the entire thing. Persons of interest are just not available to be questioned. You collect evidence to eliminate suspects, but then ignore the same evidence to add new suspects. Everything feels like the puzzles were created first and then forced into the mold of a police investigation.

Personally I think this concept would work a lot better framed as a cold case. It would give you an excuse to not do any new interviews or searches. Make it fully offline except for inputting the solution to the case and I might give it another shot.

Otherwise I leave you with this question: Where is the victim's wallet?
