Detective Box investigation games are at-home, immersive experiences, where you take on the role of a detective in charge of solving a criminal investigation. 

Woodlock University is a three-part investigation that is delivered straight to your door. It contains three boxes with each one acting like a single episode of a true-crime series. In them, you will find physical evidence and documents that are vital for solving the case. It takes two to three hours to work through each box. However, this comes with a binge warning as you’ll probably end up wanting to solve the investigation in one go.

Please note, you will need an internet connection to access our digital portal, which will guide you through your objectives.

Detective Box isn’t a board game. Here, you won’t find any playing pieces, cards or dice. You’ll simply receive items relating to the investigation (police reports, physical pieces of evidence, witness statements, etc.) to help you catch the killer. And not to mention, the many twists and turns that will have you questioning your instinct and the truth.

Our digital portal will also allow you to investigate in a more organised fashion by guiding you through your main objectives.

Detective Box offers one of the world’s most realistic and immersive crime-solving experiences. Each investigation takes over 18 months and 120 professionals (actors, writers, designers, developers, testers…) to be brought to life. That’s no easy (or cheap) feat. But it’s why we’re the best.

The price therefore pays for the production of all the physical, digital and audiovisual content for each of our investigation games. This includes:

- Realistic crime-scene documents.
- Physical items of evidence relating to the case.
- Audio and video content (interrogations, location searches, etc.).
- Websites and social media profiles linked to the investigations.

However, if you’re worried about parting with your hard-earned cash, know that we offer a money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied. We accept returns within 60 days - even if you’ve opened and completed the first box.

To solve Woodlock University, you’ll need to complete all three boxes and in chronological order.

Woodlock University takes around 8-10 hours to complete (2-3 hours per box).

Given the themes that Woodlock University touches on, this experience may not be suitable for those under the age of 14.

Solving your investigation requires you to handle, review and annotate various documents and items of evidence. Therefore, you won’t be able to reuse the contents of the box once you’ve solved the case and know all the twists and turns.

Woodlock University is currently available in English and French.

Delivery to the UK is free (excluding express delivery) when you buy Woodlock University. You will receive a notification about the delivery date as soon as it’s ready.

Deliveries are scheduled for December 2024. Between the 8th and the 15th. Just in time for Christmas.

We can accept returns and refund the product within 60 days after you receive your order. Therefore, if you’re not fully satisfied with the product after completing the first box, you can return it to us and you’ll be refunded. Please note, you will be expected to pay the return delivery costs, totalling £6, for returns made from the UK. This will automatically be deducted from your refund. Your refund will be processed as soon as our warehouse receives the product and verifies that it’s in a good condition. This can take up to 20 working days (Mon-Fri, excluding bank holidays).

To return the product:

1/ Head to our returns page here.

2/ Enter your order number and postcode.

3/ Print or scan your returns label.

4/ Drop your parcel off at your nearest post office.

Don’t forget to pack the items carefully. You’ll be refunded once we’ve received and checked the product.

Detective Box makes a great present for someone special. Here is how you can gift an experience.
Place the order yourself. However, take into account the delivery date to make sure your delivery arrives on time.
Tick the box that says “I want to give this as a gift and leave a little message”. This message will be printed on the delivery note.

There’s no time limit whatsoever. Woodlock University can be started at any time and can be solved at a pace that suits you and your investigative style.

Currently, we only offer Woodlock University in English.

An internet connection is needed to access our digital portal, which will guide you through your investigation. We recommend using a desktop or tablet for optimal experience. However, you can of course use your phone too.
