Brilliant

This made you think as a detective, make links and leave no stone unturned. It took us a little time to figure out that we had to try everything, even if we were not sure. We played it over several days and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Absolutely loved the box and me and my other half finished it within 5 hours over two weeends. We would definitely get more if more cases are done.

Room for improvement

At several points throughout we were ahead of the investigation but the game wouldn't allow you to continue despite having correctly entered the answer without going through a very linear route. Some of the evidence provided was either missing, poor quality (print quality in particular) or an error in production of the clue meant it was not useful. Box 3 seemed rushed to end the case and made very loose connections that were difficult to follow. Ultimately we got the right answer but it felt like a deflated victory, I'm not sure I would recommend this to anyone. The acting was also abysmal - very wooden and unbelievable.

Immensely Good

Just finished this game after several evenings with my mum. We enjoyed it very much and can see that there has been seriously good hard work committed into this game. From the puzzles, to the website, to the individual boxes. The attention to detail was immense.

100/10 recommend for anyone wanting a game that lasts more than just one night or one hour.

When's the next one?!?!?

Fantastic! Took it with us for a weekend away and were addicted from Box 1. Missed dinner whilst working on it. Loved the puzzles and the storey line. So much fun and lovely way to spend time together as a family and a team. Really hoping Detective Box do another one!!

It was okay!

I really enjoyed the concept and solving the little puzzles and the whole mystery element. That part was amazing. However, for me, I just didn't enjoy the storyline. I didn't really care for any of the characters, the voice acting was terrible and it was just very tedious and silly at times. I would prefer cases that feel real, that makes you want to solve the case because you care about the characters. I don't know if the game was necessarily meant to be about that though, hence why I've rated it three stars because the concept is good and if you like solving things then you'll enjoy it regardless. But yeah, for me, I started to find it boring towards the end and didn't really care about who did it because I didn't care for the storyline or the characters.
